Who is MyState Bank?
MyState Bank is Tasmania's home-grown bank, built from the state's credit-union heritage (its roots include the Teachers, Police and Nurses credit unions) and holding a full banking licence since 2014. In February 2025 it merged with Queensland's Auswide Bank, and from December 2025 the two operate as a single banking group with a combined loan book around $12.5 billion.
Brokers are a major channel for its home lending, and its footprint now spans Tasmania and regional Queensland with national digital reach.
Who suits a MyState Bank home loan?
MyState tends to suit Tasmanian borrowers who want their state's own bank, and mainland borrowers drawn by its competitive owner-occupier pricing. As a smaller bank its credit appetite is conservative, so clean applications fare best; compare its comparison rate against the table above.
Since their February 2025 merger, sister brand Auswide Bank is worth comparing too, since each regional brand still sets its own home loan pricing.
