Who is Bank Australia?
Bank Australia is the customer-owned bank behind the 'clean money' idea: its responsible banking policy rules out lending to fossil fuels, gambling, tobacco, live animal export and weapons. It began in 1957 as the CSIRO staff credit union, grew through mergers of more than 70 credit unions into bankmecu, and took the Bank Australia name in 2015.
It is a certified B Corp (since 2020), and its home-loan range includes discounted rates for energy-efficient homes through its Clean Energy Home Loan.
Who suits a Bank Australia home loan?
Bank Australia tends to suit borrowers who want their mortgage to sit with an ethically screened, customer-owned lender, and buyers of energy-efficient homes who can qualify for its green rate discounts.
