What the survey covers
The Hindsight Survey collects what homeowners who took out their loan between 2018 and 2024 say about: the rate they ended up with vs the rate they could have negotiated, lender choice in hindsight, refinance frequency, and the single thing they'd change about the process.
The recurring theme is regret about not negotiating harder on rate, and surprise at how much a small rate difference costs over five years once it is written down.
